This blog celebrates my passion  for British military vehicles from World War 2.

One of my earliest memories was my mum bringing home a biscuit tin full of airfix figures with a few vehicles - I clearly remember the polythene DUKW. From then on pocket money was spent on Airfix  kits and figures from the local Post Office in Westbrook interspersed with visits to Thanet models and trips to Barrets of Canterbury with its vast shelves of kits. I discovered Airfix magazine and Military Modelling. My interests were focused on World War 2 and in particular the conflict in North West Europe.

Many years later I went to the War and Peace show at Paddock Wood and discovered military vehicles in private ownership. I began to save for a jeep. I scoured the ads in Classic Military Vehicle and Milweb - both launched at my first W&P. Jeep prices were always beyond me as they began their inexorable rise.

Then the fates conspired - a small lottery win and an ad on Milweb for a Morris C8 GS within my budget. A visit to Oldham and Morris 571 FUF was mine.

Phil Winterburn (dad and son) delivered her to Southport and my Military vehicle journey had begun!

Please take a look at my vehicles - I hope you enjoy the blog.

 Cheers

Martin Ford

PS If you have any information on these vehicles please feel free to email me.
